Mason Jar Gift For Hospice Families

Today we are working on some Mason jar gifts for local hospice centers. Did you know that families in hospice many times come straight from the hospital where they have been with their very ill loved one.

It is not uncommon for family to be from another town or state, and certainly not prepared for a continued stay. Hospice families staying by the side of their loved ones generally don’t have the day to day essentials needed for hygiene and sure don’t want to go out, if only for a short time, to gather a few things while staying in a hospice facility.

Our craft today is creating jars with travel sized grooming products. Go to the dollar store, drug store, Walmart (travel bins with mini products), etc. Plan to fill each jar with a mini toothbrush or two, toothpaste, mouthwash, gum, breath mints, dental floss. Add a small note inside the jar with an uplifting message for the family. Next, you can decorate the outside of the jar. Ribbon tied around the jar is simple and inexpensive.

Other ideas for hospice jar gifts:

*Mini deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, lotions

*Mini snacks such as Rice Krispie Treats, Crackers, Mini Cookie Packages, Chocolates,

*Mini Notepad (for making funeral and other)and a

*Gift card for nearest fast food or grocery that delivers

When you have your jars full of products, next, visit a hospice center in your area and share your gifts. Your heart will pound with the warm and fuzzies because YOU made a difference in someone’s day…with a simple jar of much welcome goodies.

Wishing you the best with this craft. We know first hand how welcome any gift would be. At our most vulnerable time, with broken hearts and despair…to know someone was thinking of us as we faced the last days of our loved one, would have lifted our hearts greatly. That is why keep hospice families on the top of our list for spreading smiles and good cheer. Personal experience,

Perhaps you have a personal experience that drives you to be kinder, more aware, and thoughtful of people in certain situations. If so, please share with us. We would love to hear your inspiration.

Smiles and Good Cheer,
